ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The United States are preparing for their first match of the 2024 Copa America against Bolivia at AT&T Stadium on Sunday evening. While they are far from being favourites to win the tournament, AC Milan star Pulisic is hoping his team – who drew 1-1 with Brazil in their final warm-up game but also were thumped 5-1 by Colombia – can go far in this historic competition.

WHAT CHRISTIAN PULISIC SAID
He told reporters on Friday: "Now it's time to prove ourselves. I think we've learned a lot. We've put some good performances in the World Cup. We've shown people that, okay, this team can play. And now it's about not just putting in those performances but finding a way to get results in the biggest matches. That's the next step for us."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The US reached the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup before losing to the Netherlands but they did hold England to a goalless draw in the group stages. Their best-ever run at a Copa America was in 2016 and 1995 when they finished fourth and Pulisic is hoping they can impress in front of their own fans in the coming weeks.

WHAT NEXT?
After their opener against Bolivia, the United States then take on Panama four days later, before rounding off their group stage campaign against Uruguay on July 1. They will hope home advantage helps them go far in this competition.
